FORMER ASTON VILLA STAR HOPING TO HELP HIS SIDE TO FIRST EVER SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP WIN

first_imgFormer Aston Villa FC goalkeeper Lee Boyle is hoping he can use his experience to help Naomh Muire earn their first even Donegal SFC victory this weekend. Gary Boyle’s side were denied a historic win against Termon last weekend.A late, late free from Daire McDaid restored parity between the sides but Naomh Muire can still advance if they defeat Killybegs in The Banks on Sunday. Naomh Muire have been boosted by the return of the vastly experienced Boyle who has just recently returned home.Boyle had been based in London but is now back in Donegal for the next couple of months.Boyle signed for Aston Villa when he was 15 from the Maiden City Soccer Academy. The supremely talented goalkeeper was given a five-year deal by the club. Boyle failed to make the breakthrough at Villa and spent some time on loan at LOI giants Bohemians. He fell out of love with professional soccer and turned his back on the game in his early 20’s.However, he always turned out for his local GAA club Naomh Muire when he got an opportunity and last weekend he made a welcome return.Boyle produced an excellent display, but it was the quality of his kick-outs that really stood out.His range of kicking provided a great platform for Naomh Muire to start up attacks and he will be a pivotal figure for them this weekend. If Naomh Muire defeat Killybegs on Sunday and Termon lose to Kilcar then Naomh Muire could earn a place in the last eight of the Donegal SFC.FORMER ASTON VILLA STAR HOPING TO HELP HIS SIDE TO FIRST EVER SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP WIN was last modified: August 27th, 2015 by Mark ForkerShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:newsSportlast_img read more
