RaymondÂ Lankford of Wichita died Sunday, September 22, 2013 in Conway Springs at the age of 70.Raymond was born the son of Etta Mae (Bottoms) and Robert Lankford on July 31, 1943 in Wichita.On June 28, 1990, Raymond and Elizabeth Lankford were united in marriage in Wichita. Together they celebrated 23 wonderful years of marriage.Raymond worked many years as a mechanic at Atlas Spring and Axle Company in Wichita. When he wasnâ€™t working as a mechanic at work, he was a shade tree mechanic during his spare time. Â He enjoyed watching cowboy movies and had quite the collection of them. He also loved riding his bicycle around town. Raymond was a wonderful and loving individual and will be missed by all that knew him.Survivors include his loving wife, Elizabeth Lankford of Conway Springs, sons, Mark Lankford and his wife Cheri of Wichita, Shawn Lankford of Wichita, step-children, Julie Tarrant and her husband Kevin of El Dorado, Chuck Slater and his wife Caroline of Wichita, Scott Slater and his wife Michelle of Covington, Georgia, Karen Reep and her husband Tony of Conway Springs, brothers, Dennis, Fred and Herbert, Sisters, Louise, Kathy, Shirley Joann and Anita, 22 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Darrell Lankford and Robert Lankford.No services will take place.Memorials have been established in his loving memory with the American Stroke Foundation, 5916 Dearborn, Mission, KS 66202.
