Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week – Alanna Arvie, McNeese – So. – Oberlin, La.Arvie set a new personal record in the weight throw for the third straight week while improving her Southland-best mark to 58-6.75, finishing second overall at the Samford Invitational. Her finish was the top of all collegiate competitors. She also placed second in the shot put with a mark of 43-11.75 to boost her to No. 3 in the league rankings. Her pace was good for her second event win and her second program record-setting performance of the current season. Both teams are back in action this weekend, with McNeese hosting the McNeese Indoor II on Friday and the Islanders heading to the Houston Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
